Position Details:

Reporting to the Manager of Child Care Programs, ECEs and ECE-As  will assist in the delivery of high-quality programs, instilling the YMCA's core values of caring, respect, responsibility and honesty. All Educators will be trained in the YMCA Play to Learn emergent curriculum and have access to learning materials to facilitate a YMCA Playing to Learn licensed Child Care Centre.

The YMCA has 5 early years care and preschool centres across the central and south Okanagan with plans to open a 6th multi-age centre on Dilworth in Early 2020 in addition to our 7 school age care sites, serving over 500 families in care, we will continue to grow and provide best-in-class care and programming for more families in the Okanagan. Compensation:

ECE-A- $16.49

ECE- $18.45 plus wage enhancement

YMCA Playing to Learn Child Care Centre at Queens Park, Penticton

Full Time, Part Time and On Call positions Available

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the delivery of a high-quality program and age appropriate care that meet best practices whereby enhancing children's development and learning
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information related to the YMCA, including children, their families, staff and the community

Qualifications:

  • Only candidates who hold an Early Childhood Certificate, Infant Toddler Certificate, or Early Childhood Assistant Certificate can be considered for these positions.
  • First Aid certificate - required
  • Enthusiasm, energy, interpersonal and organizational skills necessary to support a positive team environment
  • Successful candidates are required to provide three references two must be professional in nature (i.e. employer, supervisor, teacher, coach or colleague)
  • Successful candidates are required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Search issued no later than six months preceding start date. The YMCA will provide applicable instructions and paperwork
